No. It's a future hotel site.

Also, the rectangle area of land in the bottom area, where the brow SAWS building is, is the future site of a convention center hotel.
So the SAWS building will go away one day? Also, a little birdie told me a few years ago a 50 plus story hotel would be built near the tower. I wonder if this is the same one your talking about too?

Yes, the SAWS building will go away. However, not sure of the height of the new hotel or who will develop it. Very preliminary.

I believe it was be a city funded hotel though.

Apparently, in order to save the Friedrich complex, it will be necessary to destroy it.

A four story apartment complex with a separate townhouse development is planned for 840 E. Mulberry St. in Midtown.

HDRC is set to approve The Eight Forty development.

602 ROOSEVELT AVENUE TOWNHOMES SET DEVELOPMENT SET TO BE APPROVED

It looks like The Park at Lone Star is getting company in the form of eight 4-story townhomes in a new development called 602 Roosevelt Avenue Townhomes.

For those unfamiliar, this development as well as The Park at Lone Star are both located in the area South of Southtown, also known as SoSo. The name, I know...

Seems as though they plan to demo all but three buildings. If I'm reading everything correctly, they plan to integrate the three buildings into a new mixed-used development. To be built in two phases with the second phase being towards the back and containing nearly 300 apartments in a five story building.

Lots of mid-rise things seem to be happening in SA. To be honest, at this point it seems like a very good kind of controlled growth thing... as long as retail is part of it and green spaces are around. Get some rail transit involved and it's golden.

Whatever happened to HEB's "urban" grocery store? Did they just pocket the $1 million?

It's currently under construction. The 1 million went towards street improvements.

Should San Antonio win one of three final four bids, the Alamodome will see a 50 million dollar renovation.

Improvements include:
  • New wider concources on east and west sides of building
  • Two new LED screens
  • New terrace club
  • New concession stands
  • New locker rooms
  • Outdoor plaza

These are pretty cool renderings. Where do you find out all this info??? I hope we get 1 of those spots too so they can go ahead with this.

Should probably do it regardless.

I thought the general fund for dome maintenance had plenty of funds for this.

I do like the idea of an upgraded plaza. If it is designed well, it could mesh nicely with Sunset Station. That whole area is used for UTSA games, but the two could be better combined.
