Do you think the building will go past where the more western crane is situated? Or is that probably the most western part of the building (up to the crane)?

Whoa! Can you imagine what the view coming from the north on the Connector will look like being flanked on BOTH sides by highrises?!

Does anyone know when the webcam for this project will begin to work? Everytime I open the link, the screen remains gray.

With downtown, midtown and buckhead who already have distinguished skylines, would it be fair to say that atlantic station is well on it way to developing its own little slice of skyline rather quickly?

Yes, for sure! I think, though, with both the MetLife and Trump developments proposed for closer to the Andrea Connector (as opposed to the Peachtree spine), and somewhat north of the 14th Street cluster, I think Atlantic Station is more likely to be viewed down the road as a westward extension of the Midtown skyline as opposed to its own skyline. I guess we'll have to wait and see! I think this photo, courtesy KCGridlock and his amazing "Above Atlanta" thread, sort of shows what I'm talking about.

I agree, and I'll bet that 17th Street in about 15 years will be a sort of canyon of skyscrapers from the bridge to State Street.

But the Andrea Connector will still be there.

What gets me the most about this building is it's height, if you look at Twelve CP you say to yourself, " wow that's a tall building". And just the thought of The Atlantic being 100 feet taller has me so anxious about this building. Come to think of it, if you have the right unit at Twelve CP you'll be able to watch this baby rise, up until the south tower starts to rise.

Don't forget the other side of 17th, from the bridge up to Peachtree St (assuming they upgrade the road eventually) - there are already 2 projects proposed there!

The Atlantic will give Atlantic Station the clout it needs to be officially apart of the skyline. The proposed height of this project is exciting.
