I checked the size of the planned 365 store, and it was/is 30K sq. ft. So that's plenty big enough for a regular Whole Foods store.

In all seriousness, I think there was public/retail parking integrated into the development.

A regular Whole Foods it will be. Downtown will now have a Whole Foods on the both the east and west sides.

From a KXAN article:
Quote:
Endeavor, the developer of Plaza Saltillo, confirmed Monday that a grocery store would still be going in at the Plaza, but it would not be a Whole Foods 365 store.

“We spoke with executives at Whole Foods and they remain committed to opening a full-line Whole Foods Market at Saltillo. Endeavor remains excited to bring a grocery store to the community," said Jason Thumlert, principal with Endeavor.

Looks like a Chuy's, a Tarka, and some other good stuff are planned tenants:

Honestly, glad that some lunch + middle price options are going to be available here, and that it's not going to be overwhelmingly high-end stuff like most of DT is.

My husband loves Tarka. The only thing we have struggled to find in Austin is authentic Japanese curry that we tried in Japan.

Check out Tatsu-ya's new bar on east 6th. They have good Katsu curry.

I happen to be friends with the sister of the owner. We go to estate sales together. Another forumer who lurks more these days and who is a good friend of mine is also connected to Tatsuya.

Please tell them to open Tiki-Tatsuya soon.

They bought my neighborhood bar out and closed it for ~9 months.

Reminds me of Third + Shoal. I like it, a different color for that stretch of 35.
