Love the tower and especially the height and design, very Miamiesque, but just not feeling the at-grade FEC tracks, as I believe it would be best to sink the tracks below grade just for a smoother, uninterrupted flow of pedestrian, rail, and vehicular traffic between 20th & 54th Sts.

As a matter of fact, I believe a majority of at-grade rail crossings in the city of Miami should be either above-grade or below grade. What do you think???

Sinking the tracks wouldn't really be possible. Raising the intersections over the tracks would be more doable or raising the tracks over the intersections but both would cost a lot of money. Brightline would never pay for it so it would have to be tax dollars.

They should definitely make the tracks elevated, but many people in FTL already expressed concerns with elevated tracks and tunnels are unpractical and expensive. But if there's the funding elevated tracks definitely make much more sense.

There's already a tunnel in Ft Lauderdale along US 1 and another tunnel leading from Dolphin Expwy to the Port of Miami, and both cross bodies of water, so it's not impossible to build a short tunnel anywhere in South FL, especially one that's mainly in soil.

Elevating would probably the easiest engineering feat, but if you were to at least sink the ROW from 20th St to about 54th St, it would greatly improve the aesthetics of the area as well as greatly improve the safety for pedestrians, motorists, and commuters on Brightline and TriRail.

Plus, noise from the Brightline and TriRail trains can be mitigated by building a short tunnel around the area. I can see this area really exploding but in order to come to full potential, the streetscape and the ROW needs to be separated!

A below grade station as well as an above grade Metrorail station around the Miami Design District would be the cherry on top, but as the area continues to further densify, something's going to have to be done to make sure that the ROW doesn't intersect with the streetscape.
