Lone Star Brewery rehab is tapping into urban hip
San Antonio Business Journal - by Tricia Lynn Silva
"For Mark Tolley, there’s no time like now.
Last month, Tolley’s firm, B. Knightly Development & Construction, purchased the former Lone Star Brewery, which spans 23 acres at Probandt and Lone Star Boulevard, near the King William Historic District.
Tolley’s plan for breathing new life into the site calls for a mix of multifamily units, restaurants, a health club, a 250,000-gallon pool and perhaps a boutique theater.
Later this fall, as part of phase one of the project, B. Knightly will start construction on 190 residences. While the actual square-footage figures are still being determined, Tolley says that the selling price for these units will start at $129,000.
Phase one of the Lone Star brewery redevelopment also calls for roughly 36,000 square feet of commercial space — including restaurants, a gym and the rehab of the German-style beer gardens that once graced the brewery. Tolley also plans to rehab the 250,000-gallon pool on-site at the former brewery.
Total costs for phase one, according to Tolley: $20 million."
it keeps going..
I passed by on Friday and saw a group of people outside the building and it wasn't construction crews. Perhaps it was a walk-thru, there were quite a few luxury vehicles parked outside.
Also, it looks as if the St. Benedict project is moving along, new windows were put in.
