Let's hope it doesn't take 4 years like the Canopy. It's nothing big but it's something.

That is exactly what the Riverwalk needed! Considering moving there in 2020!
It is a beautiful and UNIQUE buidling

I'd say a 60 story tower would look RIDICULOUS in that same spot!! LOL

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Or it could be a ice breaker for others to start high rise towers.

60 stories on the River is ridiculous. Off the river, in areas similar to where the Dury are located are not, though. I would have liked this building to be at least 300 ft. Well, at least those ugly caca buildings are being removed.

That is the parking garage, not the actual Drury building. That separate from the parking garage structure.

No, the two structures are not separate, they are firmly attached. That is a riverwalk entrance to the hotel. Hotel parking, hotel rooms, and hotel event spaces are above the riverwalk entrance. But you're wasting time splitting hairs with me when you should be bringing this up with the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk, the official name of the hotel. I suggest you call them at 210-270-7799 and demand that they stop calling themselves a riverwalk hotel, even though they have a hotel entrance on the riverwalk.

What exactly is your point about the Drury being on or off the Riverwalk?

My point is the Drury is not off the river.

Spoiler, I never said both structures aren’t connected or not owned by Drury or that the Drury itself doesn’t bill itself with Riverwalk in its name. I just simply said the building itself, aka the former Alamo National Bank, is not along the River. You’re confusing two separate but connected structures as one. I didn’t feel at the time that I needed to get that in-depth in my explanation, but I now see I do have to.

Fryguy is correct, the Drury building itself is off the river. Though, I honestly don’t have an issue with a 60 story on the River, items be dang cool, but, that is likely never to happen.

Your assertion that the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk is just the Alamo National Bank building is absurd. It's also the building constructed right next to the old bank building on the riverwalk, with a riverwalk entrance.

This is getting repetitive and we’re now just talking in circles getting nowhere quickly. I never made any assertion other than agreeing with fryguy in saying the 24-story drury hotel building was not off the river walk, because it’s not. That is it and I’m now done. Preceded how you’d like.

You can view the site plan with the building elevations showing the heights in this link.

The file you want is the 2nd one: "Commerce 139-151_Riverwalk 106_Construction Documents"

https://sanantonio.legistar.com/Legi...tions=&Search=

Those elevations show it with only 16 floors of residential floors. Level 17 is the mechanical penthouse, which typically isn't counted in floor numbers. I think the 17th floor that they're counting is actually from the riverwalk level since there is one down there where an elevator lobby is. There's also some retail on the riverwalk level, listed as "shell lease space", which is a good thing.

The highest height listed is 209 feet 7 1/2 inches, but you'll notice the roof actually continues upward a bit more above that number. I measured it to 212 feet 4 1/2 inches. The main roof height is 199 feet 7 1/2 inches, and the top residential floor, the 16th floor, is at 186 feet 10 1/2 inches.

Those are the numbers measured from the street level, which you'll notice is listed as +0. The riverwalk level drops down another 13 feet, so measuring from the riverwalk level, the building's overall height is 225 feet 4 1/2 inches.

The site plan also shows a nice overhead view of the shape of the tower.
