I don't remember seeing these posted here but there are some cool updated renders of the proposed chalet at Optimist Hill here: http://optimisthillcampaign.ca/updates/.

Looks great!

And this project is one of 4 national finalist for Kraft Project Play grant for $250,000! Today and tomorrow are the only days to vote, so please let everyone in your personal and professional networks know so they can support this! We SO need additional winter activity options in our "winter city"!

^ Yes, the plan involves raising the elevation of the hill.

I don't think this has been posted yet. but the website to the world trade center is up with floor plans and such. not much else as far as info goes however. I am still unsure if the at grade parking lot is the second phase itself or the parking lot is just a placeholder for a potential second building? anyone got the inside scoop on that? Hopefully they start digging sometime before next spring.

Part of me feels like they're just going to tear both the old credit union and haultain building down for parking for ten years 🙄 And these fancy pictures and website are just a huge scam. I can't believe North Prairie pays Don Atchison to do whatever he does for them. Let's just hope river landing towers get all of the tenants this project is vying for, just so we can at least get one new office tower project fully out of the ground.

The Ivy

The site of the old The Ivy restaurant in Saskatoon is apparently undergoing extensive renovations to either re-open as The Ivy or as another restaurant under the same ownership as previous.

It'll be wonderful matching winter, and cool in the spring. It'll also be far different from River Landing. We're going to look better than mono-sea-foam green spandrel Vancouver! Yea! (Except for the mountains and the ocean, the forests, height and...well, never mind)....
Actually the Vancouver WTC is a couple of floors in Canada Place. It is not even it's own building.

What is interesting is the parking lot next to the building labelled as Phase II. If they do both phases this is going to be an impressive building. I agree another 5 floors would be good.

They have a small sign up saying District Kitchen + Bar, as mentioned. They also painted the front wall a somewhat questionable shade of blue. Hopefully they're planning on doing a little more to improve the curb appeal because it doesn't look that inviting/intriguing right now.

Not sure where they're building in Stonebridge, but could be Yip Hong's?

Wanuskewin

So Wanuskewin recently received 2.5 million from the federal government https://goo.gl/mKgTtw. This is enough for it to proceed with phase 1 of its expansion master plan, which is great news, of course. I think this phase involves the visitor centre. It's all a bit vague. I'm wondering if the plans are at all publicly available? The best article I found was this one https://goo.gl/RFV9Zb from about a year ago. It seems phase one is the visitor centre and phase 2 may be the reintroduction of the bison herd. Does anybody have more information, renderings, or the plans?

Not sure the order this is to be done in but here's the overall plan.

Thanks! It's great to see that the park will develop further. There were some mistakes (in my opinion) in the last reno like:
- Removing almost all the interpretive museum stuff
- Moving the restaurant so it overlooks the parking lot rather than the park
- Tons of underutilized space facing the park

I hope that these things are remedied in the new expansion. It sounds like it, with the "reintroduction" of interpretative exhibits. A great asset for Saskatoon.
