Did anyone realize that fountain is actually part of the original mono-rail that Hemisfair Park had? I read that somewhere. And yeah, the GH looks alright there.

Yeah, I was really surprised by that. Had no idea.

Here's where I saw it. Click the link, (PDF file), and scroll down to page 8. This has info on other structures in the park too.

The monster has devoured the Marriott, and is waging war on Tower of the Americas!

A new pedestrian bridge will be built across the Riverwalk linking the Drury Plaza to Main Plaza.

Seen in the HDRC Agenda for Feb. 20

Quote:
The applicant is requesting final approval...the structure will be clad with punched bronze and copper panels...either linear flourescent or LED fixtures are being considered. For the torchere type fixtures, either LED or incandescent sources are being considered.

Some new GH pics. The first one can't be posted, so you'll have to click the link.

Austin's KXAN News 36 has a collection of web cams from various cities. There's several web cams of San Antonio listed.

Click on the links to check it out. The website has it set up so you can view the images as a time lapse. This is neat since the camera is pointing towards the Grand Hyatt. The time lapse works for all the cameras.

Click on the link below.

Sneak preview of a thread I'm putting together. Check this out, from 20 years ago next month... the old Hemisfair arena..and the old garage. Now home to the convention center and Grand Hyatt. The Rivercenter mall had just opened and the Marriott was still u/c:

The web cam pix also shows what I noticed when I was last in San Antonio, the red lights on top of the marriott spires are very close to the bottom of the house on the TOA and quite a bit taller then the GH.
