Dom"n"Converse-Good luck with that; so long as we have nothing but old people on the Historic and Design Review Comission they'll fight everything new, unless it's tan or light brown.
I believe city council reduce the number HDRC mbrs last years. Also, the original Grand Hyatt model never made it to HDRC. The change was done by Faulkner USA.

Wishful thinking but I'd like to see the original Grand Hyatt design go up in place of the parking garage.

The Brodway

I just noticed today driving up 281 that it looks like a crane is up at The Broadway site.

Wishful thinking??? What are you referring to? City Council did reduce the number of HDRC members last year. That was moved push by our Mayor.

No, I'm not saying that I don't think the old design could get approved now, I feel like it could since the HDRC was reduced -- what I'm sayin is I doubt that Ashkenazy would really use the old design...although if they were smart they would

Basically the same angle here, but since you were talking about how the area seems dense, this picture makes it look a little denser

I would have to assume the design of their hotel would be a mixture of old and new and be a hybrid of the original Joske's facade (that will be restored) and new/modern/glassy of the Rivercenter Mall.

Wow, I never knew Joske's had an old facade. I only knew about the white one, which I kinda like. But the old oine is cool too. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

The original facade is beautiful and I can't wait to see it restored --- I know it's gonna do great things for the area combined with the mall redevelopment.

I think that's the newest building on that particular block-- the white things are so tacky.

Does anyone know when the 10-story Staybridge in Cattleman's Square is going to break ground? Last I heard it was to be complete by the first or second quarter of 2009.
