If you didn't live in your current province/territory

If you didn't live in your current province/territory of residence, which one would you want to live in?
I assume most that don't live in BC will pick it due to its natural beauty and milder climate (in places), but maybe the poll results will be surprising.

Would definitely pick BC, my lifestyle requires mountains.

I was born and raised outside of Edmonton, have lived in Edmonton ~5 years, Victoria ~2 years, and now Winnipeg four years. the only other place in Canada I’d consider living is other places on the prairies. I’m very grateful to live and grow in these beautiful places and I wish people did more to cultivate a relationship with the land their on and the people who have shared it with us. we shouldn’t just take from where we live, but try to give back and leave it in as good of condition as we left it.

I'm from BC and really like the coast. I'd pick a maritime province at random...

Montreal if we do.

Went with Nova Scotia too as I assume the nearby water keeps it temperate like BC. Plus cheap real estate.

Born and Raised in Edmonton but lived away in the 80s due to the down turn. If I was to move away it would probably be to Victoria or that area. We seem to be the most comfortable there. But work wise I will stay here for a few more years. Would probably go to Whitehorse if it was for work. Could not go back to Toronto.

I know it's boring, but I went with Ontario -- the province most similar to (central and eastern) Manitoba in terms of political culture and geography.

People keep telling me that PEI is not the bucolic fantasyland I make it out to be in my mind, but IDGAF and I would still move there in a heartbeat if the mrs and I could find good work.

(I have been there before and will be visiting again next year, so I do have at least some idea of what I'm talking about here...)

Montreal

Wouldn't mind a stint on Vancouver Island or Newfoundland either, though.

Coastal NS is more temperate than other locations inland though. It's certainly not BC, but snow won't stick to the ground for most of winter, cold snaps are not as bad (it could very well be -7C in Greenwood while it is -18C in more continental locations), etc.

Bah I picked Alberta completely forgetting that Quebec was an option.

I'd argue the big 4 have all the best options. Culture, economic might, relative cultural diversity, geographic diversity, and weather better than the rest.

BC is my favorite choice if I didn't have to care about money, QC if I didn't have to care about working, and Alberta would win if I wanted my wife to hate me.

You mean the pacific coast. Six months of snow will fix that attitude. Atlantic Canada is suffering from demographic death for a reason.

A weak economy, poor demographics, isolation and stagnation. It's a step up from Saskatoon but not much else.

Ontario would work for you also as the Great Lakes have fooled many a person.

Whoa...no. Where on earth did you come up with that? There are a couple of Prairie provinces next to you that are exponentially more like Manitoba than Ontario is. Which really isn't.

I'm from Ontario and lived in Winnipeg for six years. Winnipeg and Manitoba are Prairie. Ontario isn't.

They're a lot warmer, too, so you can actually swim in them.

Cue BC hissy fits about beaches!

Coastal NS is quite temperate. The Atlantic coast from Halifax along the south shore to Yarmouth in particular generally has above zero highs in the wintertime. The only issue in the wintertime are the nor'easters, but along the south shore the precipitation is usually in the form of rain. Occasionally though you do get horrible blizzards though (White Juan being an example).
