Same here I would hate to see anything happen to prevent this one from getting finished to its original plan. It will be a great addition to the skyline once it is finished and it is already moving along quite nicely!

^ Is that actual "work" or just some guy fixing a hinge?

Oh, and regarding the protests--no sympathies from me..

These folks have something to say and they are clearly succeeding in getting at least the people on this forum to hear it. Welcome to America.

You can love architecture, tall buildings and urban density and still be concerned about human rights... If Hugo Chavez was financing the Chicago Spire I would love the building but fight against it being built because of the symbolism of supporting a regime I don't agree with and the financial support that would be going to that regime from the building's income. People in Indonesia have far less power and opportunity to stand up for their own rights than we do by putting pressure on companies that do business here to conform to values we support.

being a mod on this forum for the past 7 years, i can tell that this thread is about to spin wildly out of control into a big off-topic idiocy festival, so let me preemptively say that discussions of unions in general (always a hot button issue on this forum) should be taken to a different thread.

another punter is right, this is america, and these folks do have a right to protest anything they want. if you have an opinion specifically about these protesters and how it relates to waterview tower specifically, then go ahead and post it in this thread, but any generalized pro- or anti-union posts will be deleted from this thread.

Well, when te delay occured, all the construction workers got re-assigned to different projects.

I've heard that the lenders are in town to finalize the deal basically, and that work should resume in June or July. You just can't pull those workers off those other projects. It's about timing and scheduling.

Actually they can. . . I know someone working on this project who was pulled off earlier to work at Lexington Park. . . not sure how often it happens, but it does. . .

Thanks for this imformation. Please keep us, the ones that do not live in Chicago posted with any information, or any photos, not that these awesome people here dont, but it's just cool to have one of the employees at waterview on here.

Thanks

The whole subject is off topic and should be deleted imo.
