For each one of the pics in this thread, I could show a similar pic that happened in Edmonton, but thats not the point of this thread, and neither is Edmonton, so lets stop talking about Edmonton.
I lived at the corner of 17th and 5th street during the 04 Red Mile. I don't recall any fires and nothing but good-spirited celebration. To me, a fire in the street amongst a large crowd is basically the tipping point between a large crowd celebrating and a riot.

As you said though, this is about the Red Mile, v.2007. Maybe we can discuss the "Blue Mile, v.2008" next year. Until then... GO FLAMES GO!

I remember people in Calgary saying 'when' last year too.

I for one invite any and all of our Edmonton brothers to come down, put on a Flames jersey and partake in the Red Mile festivities

I'll come down in my Oilers jersey, but I dont want to get beaten up by all the rowdies that are sure to be there.

Maybe the crowds at the new flames bar on stephen Ave will be more of the classy type.

Only a Flames fan would wear "just making the playoffs" like a badge of honour.

I kid, I kid.

4-1 Detroit - but I expect an angry Flames team to tie the series on Sunday. They shouldn't be an 8th seed.

Nah, he just watched the team from 1991-2005. Especially the playoffs from 1998-2004. That's one hell of a creepy stretch.

Sad to say, but I think it's up to Vancouver and Ottawa to salvage my long-lost dream of an all-Canadian final.

Ya, I have to agree after watching that piece of S*** last night by the Flames! If it wasn't for Kipper the game would have been 10-1!

Seriously that is just plain stupid. How many people from Calgary put on Oiler jerseys last year? Sorry, but I'm not a bandwagon jumper.

And I agree with The Kid on the score last night. That was a pathetic effort on Calgary's part, but I guess it was to be expected.

I'm up in Edmonton on biz this week. Any action on the mile last night after the Flames win or is everybody still subdued thinking we're just putting off the inevitable?
