Port Townsend, Washington. A Victorian Era Seaport

Port Townsend is located on the west side of the Puget Sound. Most downtown buildings were built in the late 1800s and are well preserved.

The Post Office

County Courthouse

A Few of the Victorian homes around town

In addition, next to Port Townsend is Fort Worden, and old Army post now a park. Movie fans may recognize the parade grounds from the movie An Officer and a Gentleman which was filmed there.

Good to see Port Townsend on here! I could see it from a distance while traveling by ferry up Puget Sound from Seattle to Victoria 2 years ago. Nice to see it closer up now.

The county courthouse sort of reminds me of a larger version of the Williams County, Ohio courthouse.

Great pictures. I've heard of Port Townsend, but I never would've expected it to look this good. There are a lot of great buildings there.

Port Townsend indeed is one lovely town. I love visiting there every once in awhile, especially during the Port Townsend Jazz Festival weekend. Thanks for the great pics.

The old fort also includes an actual hard-walled fort overlooking the water. I'm guessing it's WWI-era. Incredibly cool place to be a kid. I don't remember that from the movie but the waterfront next to it played a role.

Cool town. Sort of a mix of tourist, hippie, right winger, et al. I know a couple sets of people there and go once a year or so.

Nice set.

My family stayed at the house (actually duplex) shown in the last pic for x-mas back in 87.

Real nice-looking town. My work a few years ago went somewhere on the outer part of town for a retreat and I never got to see the city center.
