Wow 2WTC looks rather bloated in that shot.

Would love to see that original design resurrected but we'll probably have to wait until the next business cycle.

It is incredible that this is still in the design stages after all these years. After watching the movie "16 Acres" it became clear that this is all about political show boating. These politicians have no skin in the game but are holding up the show.

There’s a new design, and it will be built on spec if Larry can obtain financing.

Begins at 14:40. They may build on spec, but still looking for a big tenant or two to help obtain financing.

The woman conducting the interview is kind of hot. She has that pouty, sexy librarian look.

I suspect that it will be incredible. This is Larry's legacy.

Well his legacy ain't so great so far so I won't hold out high hopes. No need to redesign just keep the original 2WTC. More money and time down the drain.

Agreed, the new WTC is kind of lame, mostly because the "spire" of 1WTC is just godawful. The complex would be pretty cool if it weren't replacing the twin towers though, but in order to be even acceptable it needs another well designed 400 meter building, i.e. this. Hopefully it doesn't deviate too much from Foster's original.

Given Larry's age I'd assume he'll be doing everything in his power to get this off the ground ASAP. He'll be 90 soon.

Anyone who's spent much time at the WTC regards it as a masterpiece. Despite the grumblings of many who haven't even seen it in person, 3 WTC is a high-quality, magnificent tower.

I guess "masterpiece" and "magnificent" are thrown around pretty easily these days...

Since you’re not from NY, I assume that you’ve seen these towers in person on limited occasions at most. They’re stunning in person. I can’t think of a single, recently-built office tower in the US (outside of NY) that’s as good (other than Foster’s new tower in SF).

It's a very nice building sure, but compared to The Twins for dominance and stature it pales in comparison and honestly would you'd even notice 3WTC if it wasn't where it is?

3 WTC would utterly dominate the skyline of any American city, and it would be very prominent in Chicago. It's an amazing tower.

There are a few cities outside NYC and Chicago in the US that have one or two 300 meter buildings, so I disagree. 3WTC is okay but it's kind of boring looking (and yes I've seen it in person). It's more powerful and wide from the North and South so that's good.

It shouldn't be about only American cities though, NY is a world city so it should compete on a world stage, having been to China the skyscrapers in that country are simply insane. Not just in scale but design-wise too.
