I know they did that about a decade ago. I might have some photos somewhere. It was pretty cool, artists would convert their studios to stores and have parties, especially during First Fridays. Not sure if they still are studios or will be again, but it would be something great if this new venue can capture some of the energy that once emanated from that place.
Were you around Blue Star in the "old days," when James Lifshutz's dad Bernard owned the place? First Fridays had a much larger party atmosphere, bordering on dangerous; local art up the yingyang! So awesome. The old "Arte in the Hood" show was first held at the mill and it was such a mishmash of people; talk about Bohemian!
