dang, I was hoping the brown tint wasn't so subdued. I was hoping it stood out just a little more. O well all in all it's still a good addition to downtown and at least it moves just a little bit of hotel/restaurant activity that much further northward along the Riverwalk.

Thanks for the update. Man, this thing is slow. It's looking better than I expected though, so I guess it's worth the wait.

Signage has gone up, took a few pics of it on the way in this morning, I'll post them tonight.
The top corner has the small square green "E's" and Soledad side has "Entrance" and "Embassy Suites" in black letters on the brown/bronze metal canopies. On Houston side, "Embassy Suites" and "Lüke," are in black letters on the brown metal covers over the entrances. There is a vertical sign visible from both streets. Concrete has been poured along the sidewalk, pretty low compared to the curb though, perhaps they are adding brick or pavers on top?. The offices facing Houston are already furnished and there were people in there working. It seemed to finish out pretty quickly, they originally had the open date for Sept. 2010; now it is Nov. 11th. Lüke is scheduled to open in October was originally August.

Here they are........
All photos taken by me. Sorry for the misinformation earlier, I guess the lettering is white. I also wish the meeting space had windows or something to break up all that wall.

Taken 2 weeks ago.

Taken this morning.

sorry, took these on the move.......

You're right, that's a pretty disastrous streetscape, though the stone would look nice with vines.

Other than that, I guess it looks about as nice as a tan box possibly could look.

We stayed at Marriott courtyard earlier this month and from our balcony the building didn't look bad, but I was hoping for some livelier colors as well (something closer to the courtyard or Valencia).

The long painted area above the stone work on Main is really overbearing. On the plus side, they were adding more stone work from the river level so I think that will look much better.

Glad to have something new in the downtown area, but is SA in a wall block phase? They could have easily made this into a 25-30 story building.

It's opening soon; the construction fence has been removed. I haven't been inside (yet) but as of right now my only concern is the fact that the stone tree planter/boxes are only about two feet away from the wall on Soledad. Do they plan on putting walking traffic signals there? Two people do not fit side by side.

Glad to see a surface lot go, but the longer I look at the building itself the less impressive it gets..
