Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Coming into downtown off The Connector today, and seeing where the crane stands for the new hotel, is great. It really fills a hole in the skyline and is going to add some great density.

Excuse the very rudimentary drawing here, but this is what I mean. Wikipedia says 180ft tall, so I thought somewhere close to as tall as the Wells Fargo building.

I think the perspective is a bit off because the height of the Simplot HQ is 147ft, and the black box, which is supposed to be 180ft, is a bit lower than that, and I'm pretty sure the height of the box would about the height of the US Bank building from that perspective.

Here is what my google earth model suggests. Not sure why the textures won't load anymore.

Food hub, farmers market planned as part of Boise Botanical Garden expansion
By BRAD CARLSON Capital Press May 16, 2024

Quote:
The east Boise garden’s updated master plan calls for expanding the east Boise garden by 10 acres to a total of 25, and building a 22,000-square foot visitor and event center to include space for the food hub.

Boise Farmers Market, which each year leases space in parking lots near 15th Street and Shoreline Drive downtown, would move to the botanical garden, executive director Amber Beierle said. The market would occupy part of the new building and some outdoor space.

Does anybody know what the little crane is for at the AC/Element? And is there a construction cam for the hotels?

Yeah, I definitely thought of that, but wasn't quite sure where to place it.

4 Fortune 500 Headquarters in the Boise Metro

We used to have a few more Fortune 500 company HQ in Boise, Ore-Ida and MK. This is still pretty impressive for a city our size.

The annual ranking of top companies in the US, ranked by revenue is out from Fortune. And this year, Boise has a third company on the list.

Joining mainstays Micron Technology and Albertsons Companies is Boise Cascade at #493
Lamb Weston Holdings has HQ in Eagle:

Albertsons
Boise Cascade
Lamb Weston Holdings
Micron Technology
And, then there is the large Simplot HQ downtown and is one of the largest privately owned companies in the world.

I feel as Boise continues to grow that we could possibly attract another Fortune 500 company to add to our already notable mix of Headquarters. We have the tech corridor downtown so we are trending in the right direction for attracting more companies.

I just remembered this news of a new tech company opening in the midtown (https://midtownboise.com/about-midtown/) area of downtown.

Exyte, the global leader in the design, engineering, and delivery of ultra-clean and sustainable facilities for high-tech industries announces opening of new office in Boise, Idaho
How many more tech companies will move here or expand offices to the City of Trees based on Micron's huge expansion?
