A small, but very cool, building is being proposed for the small lot between the VFW and that other bar. It's only 3 units, but very urban and with a nice splash of color.

This project also has a river-front patio, which is something I wish the River House folks had incorporated into their design.

Could be the start of more to come...

I like how the description describes it as being in an "up-and-coming urban location". Hopefully more developers are seeing it that way too.

It may not be aesthetically pleasing to everyone, but I do like its compactness and scale; it adds to the variety that is necessary to make neighborhoods feel real.

The hotel and office building along the river at 9th Street are coming along well. It's to see the hotel building interacting with the river as much as it does. The small plaza in front is a nice touch.

Up a few blocks, the land has been cleared for River House.

It's 5 out of 10 filler, but there's no street level retail. Big mistake.

There definitely seems to be retail or commercial space in the renderings.

It's 2,800 square feet off Jones. It's not off Broadway but not every development has to have ground floor retail.

It's a big empty lot right now, what's proposed is 1,000 times better than what's there now.

Looks amazing. Wish they'd kept that cool old car dealership that was torn down a couple years ago at that location, they definitely could have incorporated it. Apart from that it looks just what the doctor ordered for that area.

I agree with Keep-SA-Lame and SKW, it's not perfect but definitely better than what is there. If they could maybe put some retail into that building at the corner of Jones and Broadway that would definitely help.

To put into perspective the size of the 1130 Broadway residential building. It'll be nearly 250 feet longer than 1800 Broadway.

So just imagine how much it will change the landscape of that area.

I am glad two existing buildings will be saved. They add a lot to the area.

The parking structure on Alamo looks pretty awful, but apart from that, this is more great news!

The other intriguing thing from that page:

Two mystery residential developments at McCullough and Avenue B and another at Ave. B and 9th (total of 412 units)

I like the residential component.
