Port San Antonio to pursue billion-dollar federal campus plan

Port San Antonio is proposing a plan to the federal government to develop a new consolidated home for the 16th Air Force on its Southwest San Antonio campus.

The complex would replace outdated structures and house Air Force Cyber, as well as its associated missions and partner agencies.

The cost to develop the campus could approach roughly $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion — or about half what the federal government would spend if it oversaw the project, according to Port San Antonio President and CEO Jim Perschbach.
