Amazing collection and great memories in this city.

Its character can put larger cities to shame.

This is the most extensive set of St John photos that I've seen to date. Great job!

Looks like a great small city. I'm sure one of these days I'll end up visiting there. Thanks!

I've never been there, but it appears to be an impressive little city. Lots of nice little details...as well as some beautiful old buildings. I shall have to make the effort to get there sometime. That big liner alongside by the way, is the ship that "tilted". Scary stuff! Great post and a fine collection.

It has some great streetscapes, dense streetwalls and nice topography.

OK, I'm lovin' this thread. I like harbor towns, smaller cities, the hills (reminds me some of Ithaca), great old buildings, some talls, and has some street life too. I feel charmed by these pics, thanks.

i take back anything ill i have ever said regarding saint john.

canada has no shortage of vibrant, beautifully preserved historic streetscapes

sure, canada has alot of bland, stagnant 70s era skylines/commie blocks, but look in those buildin's shadows and you are bound to find vast tracts of historic treasures and pleasures!

To be honest, I'm quite impressed. The character of of some of those older buildings downtown is awesome!

I definitely hope to visit Saint John someday. I love the look of old historic buildings on hillside streets. Overall, for me it is kind of reminiscent of a mixture of Halifax, Victoria, and a larger version of Nanaimo. Looks like it would be a fun place to explore. Thanks for the pics.
