Fort Worth, TX - The Ruins - 26 stories, residential | PRO

This is a development in the planning stages for downtown Fort Worth - a 26 story condo tower looking over the Trinity River. To be built near the Pier 1 building.

It's certainly...unique. No idea yet how definite the plans are, but it's being worked on by a local architect who has done a lot of smaller urban infill stuff, most of which is quite attractive.

Supposed to be available by Winter 2009.

Just skip the whole "glass top" ruin thing and it will be good.

The building already looks ruined, so it won't look damaged when a tornado passes through it. Good thinking.

Hmm. That rendering is fairly vague, so we'll have to see. I'm not sure it's Fort worth's style, though. I like the height, 26 floors. Not sure about the design, though. Kind of strange.

It is unique and does hold potential. Buthow many cities would want a building that looks like this? How many people would buy units in a place called "The Ruins"? I think this building is more the type of thing we would see and expect in Las Vegas, Dubai, or any host of Chinese cities.

It began life as a much smaller building a couple of blocks away before morphing into a tower:

Fascinating.

But it almost looks like someone's idea of a practical joke on SSP forumers to me.

The Ruins, heh. Nice to see the architect drawing inspiration from Detroit's high-rise stock.
