West Chicago, IL is not within Chicago's city limits.

it is an independently incorporated municipality that isn't even in the same county as the City of Chicago.

It really is amazing how confused you are - West Chicago is not the West Side of Chicago, it is a separate Jurisdiction completely independent from the City of Chicago. It's not even in Cook County.

In other breaking news, West New York, NJ is not the City of New York.

good call.

he seems to ruin a lot of otherwise nice things.

anyway, with the poll results now in hand, this thread has come to a useful conclusion.

there simply is no definitive #2 most urban city in the US because shit gets too subjective.

there is a pretty clear "second tier" so to speak of urban US cities consisting of boston, chicago, DC, LA, philly, and SF.

if you absolutely must declare a single lone #2 most urban US city after NYC, then just pick whichever of those 6 cities you happen to like best because it really doesn't fucking matter.

and if you think it does, get some help.
