Austonian and Independent fall right within this range as well.
The average of these 9 towers is 655'. If they all get built we might have another higher plateau affect in the skyline. Regardless I am looking forward to a taller skyline across a bigger area. What a difference three years will make especially with 6x and 98 in the mix!

It could. I haven't noticed any demo permits. But that doesn't mean much since they get approved shortly after they are filed once the HLC approves demo which was done in this case.

The founding partners of Austin-based Cielo Property Group are parting ways to start new ventures.

The partners, Rob Gandy and Bobby Dillard, will split up the firm’s assets, but it’s unclear who will take what. The Cielo name will be wound down, and both ventures will take on new names.
Quote:
It’s unclear how the split might affect Cielo’s ultra-luxe office tower, Perennial. At 45 floors, the 750,000-square-foot office tower under construction at 204 East 4th Street will be one of the city’s tallest buildings.

Well, we know it's not U/C. There has also been no permit activity since July 2022 as far as I can tell.

Their split does not bode well for any of their proposed projects on the board. Additionally, this project is all office. With the uncertainty of the economy and without a major tenant lease signed, I don't feel too confident about it, unfortunately.

A friend who lives at Brazos Lofts met Rob Gandy. He has control over the site and still plans to redevelop a few years out. Showed my friend the design- says it’s different from what was proposed.

Probably a major downgrade too.

Probably 30 floors, blue glass, 15 levels of parking and an exposed / disjointed / lazy aesthetic

Haha it wasn't just the Wilson though. This was one of the first, but also going back to the 5th and Colorado one. Even the ATX tower is a total downgrade from original proposal.

Don't forge the Fairmont. The knocked the legs out from under that and replaced it with a spire.

The spire was always planned but it made way more sense in the original design.

I'm sad that this block has fallen apart -- that first tower that we saw was really gorgeous, and did really fantastic things with the internal paseo. I'm hopeful that it can be resuscitated but I'm afraid we'll almost certainly have to throw the original design onto the mulch pile, right on top of that beautiful chrome tower on the 416 Colorado plot.

While I can understand the letdown from what we saw of the original proposal, I'm a little perplexed at the reaction to the news. All Urbannizer relayed was that the design is different than originally proposed. That doesn't necessarily mean a downgrade or a height reduction. If that is all the info we have to go by then it simply means the design has changed.

I'm also not clear on whether it was the Phase 1 office or Phase 2 residential tower that the person Urbannizer mentioned was referring to.

Not to mention the Modern (90-92 Rainey); Block 32 (3rd and San Jac); River St. Residences (700 River), among however many other victims of value engineering...
