Exactly, it's respectful, and in a way draws a line for the public to see the difference between old meeting new.

Nothing is ever for sure but if it does start it's supposed to be Q4 2021 at earliest but probably 2022 sometime. I think those are the most accurate dates we've been given if I'm not mistaken.

The building is approved which is good, though a 1,400+ foot building is always ambitious (despite the fact that Chicago was the first city on earth to build 1,400+).

I think this is one of those towers that looks even better in person than the renderings - especially with the accents like those mullions

I think Zerton was referring to the new elements of the existing Trib Tower's rear building addition. Not the new un-built tower.

I wonder if the fins will have light shows like the Salesforce Tower in SF, that would really be the icing on the cake.

Prep the banana suits! Very excited for this.

Also pumped about the revamped underground entrance. I cycle under there to get to the LFT often and would appreciate some lighting, repaving, and improved safety.

Am I correct in thinking the rehab has to be completed entirely before we could even think of groundbreaking?

Yes, I believe that’s what golub said as well.

There's a good chance I'll cry tears of happiness if they actually build this (and it does seem like more than a pipe dream).

Even more so if it becomes the new tallest.

This development team seems very competent and serious about getting it built

This may seem like a silly question but if they wanted to extend the height a bit past Sears (say 50-60 feet or so). Would they need to go through the whole approval process again or does zoning allow up to a certain height by default?

I get the feeling they'll probably want to.
