Up 250%? Compared to previous day? Previous week? Previous month? Previous year? Sorry, I'm stupid, I don't know what you mean.

Homicides are not up 250% in LA. That was for a couple day period. They didn't even release the raw numbers for those few days. It must have been something like 7 murders instead of 3. The cops were just trying to make a point

As of June 13th ytd

2020 - 119
2019 - 113
2018 - 121

Sorry, so if homicides are up within a period of time, they are not actually up that percentage? Or is it only because it doesn't fit how you see that world that it isn't the truth?
It's meaningless. I'm suspicious of why someone would think it is noteworthy that 3 people were killed on this day in 2019, versus 7 people on this day in 2020.

Las time I checked, this thread was called ''CITY MURDER RATES.'' Not, ''Lets nitpick numbers because I don't like the way they were presented!!!1111''

I'll continue to provide information. I do not care if it suits your liking or not.

It's really a useless way of comparing statistics. I've never ever heard anybody present statistics this way.

On this day last year there was 1 murder. On this day this year there have been 0 murders.

Murder rate down 100%!!!

You continue to provide information? What the fuck do you think I was asking you to do? Did you think I was asking you to stop providing information?

I was confused by the incomplete statistics you provided, so I asked you for more information, but you refused, and now you make a big deal about how you provide information. You make me laugh.

We've been comparing annually in this thread for years... Weekly or monthly spikes don't mean much

2020 is one weird year though. In some cases it might make sense to compare month to month, or in extreme times, week to week rates of violence because of Covid-19, lockdowns, high unemployment rates, prisoner releases, social unrest incidents, protests and riots.

Yes gang violence and the drug underworld at its worse. Chicago reported to have a higher percentage of gang involvement than any city in U.S.A . Al Capone and that crowd is gone but their spirit is alive and well in Chicago. 18 dead over the weekend is very hard to fathom. hoping the new police chief can figure this out.

Yes it is absurd, but i would imagine they were all humans, including a 1 year old, and a 10 year old caught up in the carnage of collateral damage.

That's appalling! If these killings happened around Wrigley we would see actions taken immediately by the city. 533 shot in June in Chicago resulting in 83 dead.

I really, really doubt that other crimes are actually down. Murder is a good indicator of general lawlessness. If other crime is 'down,' it is generally because police are taking fewer reports. Actual 'other crime' has almost certainly spiked along with the most serious crimes like shootings and murders.
