Ultimately, it's up to the steel supplier to figure out how they want to piece together the steel frame.

Depending on steel size efficiencies - it may make more sense to go two or three floors depending on the steel section.
I guess, after thinking about what you said, it kind of makes sense seeing as they are now building in 7 storey chunks. One 3 storey column and two 2 storey columns. Then they raise the crane again and repeat.

We will see if that guess is right.

Anyone have an estimation of where they'll be at by the end of the summer? I feel like at this rate they can probably get a lot done in 2 months.

Really? They seem like they could easily pull ahead of schedule on that.

Top of steel columns are at 22 right now. So they'll have to do all the hollow core for 7 floors (19-26) and steel for the next 4 floors and raise the core and pour the next 4 levels. Seems about right at the current pace.

You greatly underestimate Marwest’s stunning incompetence.

Not really sure this schedule adds up to incompetence. Basically a floor a week.

Sorry man, I’m on the ground there every day and you can say what you want from looking at some pictures, but this is the worst managed and coordinated project I’ve been on in my entire career.

The steel columns are beginning to peek through now. We can see what kind of impact it'll have on the skyline from this vantage point.

Too bad it’s not taller, it looks like it’s gonna end up blending in with the rest of the buildings at the corner.

I'm already loving the way the building looks at night. It's really going to look great, especially coming downtown from Provencher Blvd. or Henderson Hwy.

300 Main will actually be the peak of the cluster of towers on P&M. For the entire Winnipeg skyline for that matter.

Not at all... the difference between 360 and 201 is 36ft. there isn’t that much of a noticeable difference in height, from most parts of the city they almost look the same height. The difference between the new tallest and 201 will be 45 feet... it won’t be as dramatic as most people are suggesting. It will look sharp from some angles, but from most of the city it’ll just blend in with the cluster. I wish it was taller.

It should only blend in when looking at downtown from the north, because it will be behind the other P&M towers. From the other 3 directions it will standout and clearly be the tallest building.

You’re probably right... I don’t come into the city very often and when I do it’s from the North, main, henderson, lagimodière, I do imagine it will look awesome coming up Main from st boniface / st vital, and from provencher it will look phenomenal too. Regardless I’m excited to see the finished product.
