I was hoping for a Shangri-La or Ritz Carlton...just because we already have a Fairmont, but I trust this Fairmont will be a really nice hotel.

I usually associate Faimonts as older classic hotel, but they have some interesting new ones out there.

I take it that small pond in the middle is just a spot to collect all of the water so they can pump it out?

You are correct, Surrealplaces. There has been very little water so far in the excavation considering the proximity of the river.
