I have a neurological disorder about it. PCSS (Post Construction Stress Syndrome?). Check my post history. You'll find posts praising it, posts lamenting it as the worst thing to happen to the city, and everything in between.

Laval is gross. There's just no other word to describe it. I hate suburb, but I super-hate Laval.

I have to agree, every time I see a pic of that tower, I don't know if I should cry or laugh, how could so many people actually movie into that building!

For London I'd probably go with Museum London, our art gallery:

I guess for Vancouver these would be weird, although weirdly beautiful, especially at night:

I think this one in Kingston beats it though:

Click on the link - it's worth it. It really dominates downtown as well which makes it even worse.

I still like the Kingston one better. It's very clunky, but it's trying something. It could be somewhere in Tokyo. The Laval one could only be in Laval. It's the worst.

There's a few in Edmonton too of very similar design, but the top is missing, likely due to them being under the landing path for the soon to close city center airport.

I'm not sure about its collection, but the building itself is quite nice actually, I was always impressed with it. In fact, I was always consistently impressed with almost all of London's core for a city of less than 400 000 and a metro of less than 500 000. The art gallery is also in a prominent pedestrian location right near the forks of the Northern and Southern branches of the Thames river, and only a 3 - 4 minute walk from Richmond Road.
