41-Story, 223-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Rises To 33rd Floor At 38 West 33rd Street, Midtown South

Construction is underway on the 33rd floor of the 41-story, 223-unit mixed-use building under development at 38-46 West 33rd Street, in Midtown South. Progress on the structure, which includes façade installation, can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the tower, upon completion, will encompass 220,724 square feet and rise 404 feet to its upper roof, not including bulkhead elements.

There will be 5,721 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by residential units across the fourth through 39th floors. The apartments should average 819 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Torkian Group is the developer and Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the architect. Completion is expected later this year.

Torkian Group's 41-Story Midtown Rental Tower Tops Off Construction, Readies for Q3 Leasing Launch

The property previously held a 325-car parking garage which Torkian paid $30 million for in 2007, per the Commercial Observer. TOWN Marketing & Leasing will be marketing the property and anticipates leasing to begin 3Q 2017. Stephen B Jacobs Group is the architect and sister firm, Andi Pepper Interior Design is handling the interiors. Amenities will include a fitness center, spa, sauna and outdoor terraces.
