Now a 25 story residential and an 11 story Boutique Hotel.

Hotel, luxury living planned for Dallas Arts District
Quote:
Developer Craig Hall gave WFAA a first look at the second phase of his Hall Arts development Tuesday, which will bring a new hotel and high-end living to the Dallas Arts District.
Quote:
The 11-story boutique hotel's name is still under wraps, but Hall said it will sit above two floors of public space, 231 rooms and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. There is also space for restaurants.

The hotel will share some services with the Hall Arts Residences, which will sit 25 stories high, made up of 44 homes. Hall has reserved his spot on the 6th floor, and — like all potential buyers — he has to wait until it's built.

More info:

He plans to strip out out the existing sidewalk on Leonard Street and put in two lanes for valet parking that shoot off the existing roadway. The proposal puts in a new, wider sidewalk on the private lot around the building and adds trees and green space as a barrier between the sidewalk and the street. The sidewalk would wrap behind the valet parking lanes closer to the building.

His new development is an adjacent 44-unit luxury residential building and a 177-room hotel that will include a possible sidewalk cafe.

Hall said he doesn't need the money at this point in his life, but just wants Dallas to have nice things.

There is the potential of groundbreaking by summer. The site has already been pre-prepped for the tower and all they really have to do is dig the foundation and go from there.

I don't believe that's a height reduction, the condo tower is 26 floors on top of an 8 floor podium.

Wrong.

This building is proposed at a total of 25 floors.

There is no 8 floor podium. Underground parking is already in place.

No it's not.

Dallas greatly needs yet another one of its vacant lots developed into residential. This happens to be condos and a high-end hotel. Win-win.

And if you've ever walked the grounds of KPMG Plaza, been to Hall Office ParK, or dined at Flora Street Cafe like we did last week, you'll know that Craig does things first class.

I'm allowed to be disappointed. Especially when I've taken pains to also note that I'm happy it is going ahead.

Hall Arts

This is so exciting! This project will change the Arts District completely. We could always use a taller building, but 25 floors will definitely pop up on the skyline in this certain location.
Will this tower still be 440 feet tall?

Is there even a height reduction though. Back when they approved it at 440' in October, they said it would be 26 floors. Now they're saying 25 in the latest articles, but even if they are cutting a floor it shouldn't be that big of a difference. For all we know that extra floor confusion could just be them skipping over the 13th floor or increasing ceiling height.
