I think the last line from this Leader Post article says it all. This is from the Westgate legal counsel:

Capital Pointe Syndicated Mortgage (1971 Albert Street) AKA " The Hole"??

I have invested my hard earned LIRA into this mess. I have not seen the interest owed to me for almost 3 years now. I want out, I want my LIRA and want to walk away shaking my head. Dont know what to do as I should have not done it in the first place.

I doubt there is anything you can do except to hold onto the investment and cross your fingers, or to sell it at a large loss.

*Apparently* They have been refunding money to investors who want out. You just have to go through their business office and request an exit from the project.

If you take that route and it doesn't lead anywhere, next step would be to lawyer up and file a claim against them.

You are conflating condo buyers with syndicated mortgage investors. The condo buyers have deposits which should be secure. The mortgage investors have a mortgage on a big hole.

Well I walked past the site on Friday and it was as empty and dead as always. Suffice to say I don't think they managed to meet the Dec. 8th shoring deadline given to it by the appeal board.

Perhaps we will hear another weather excuse....maybe the massive power outage is a good reason?

Suspect nothing will happen on the site by April either.

Why haven't any of the mods changed the status of this thread from site prep to cancelled yet?

Because of admitting so means the giving up on the first high rise project in Regina in last decade. It is like giving up on the dream.

You must be forgetting Hill Tower III that was completed just a very short while ago... Saskatchewan's current tallest building. Or are you simply a misinformed troll?

Based on dates alone, only ones I spent time to find

Saskatoon RL thread started Sept 7, 2007

Regina CP thread started Aug 11, 2009

I think CP still has a couple of years to go as of today
Hows that for simple math on a Monday.

^Reasonable.

The thread title should probably be

"Regina | Capital Pointe | 29F | 11F | 91M | ?M | we'll let the courts decide"

Actually, the Delta Hotel is [still] the tallest building in Saskatchewan. That said, the Delta will soon be reduced to as to be: "the tallest building in Regina."

Saskatoon, for the first time in Saskatchewan's history, will soon steal the title as having Saskatchewan's tallest building.

Hmmm.

ha I was going to mention that. Potash headframe. There's likely some antenna that would be the tallest structure though. Or a smoke stack?

Mosaic claims it is the tallest structure but yes the CFRE-DT Television (Global Regina) Tower near Bethune 50°35'43"N 105°4'12"W is a whopping 984 ft.
