You want Manhattan fugliness? I’ll give you Manhattan fugliness. Port Authority Bus Station, one of the most depressing places I have ever been to.

By the way, where else in Canada is concrete the norm for driveways and not asphalt?

As much as Calgary is notorious for unidriveways I'm grateful that we do concrete as opposed to asphalt. Asphalt just looks hideous as a driveway imo.

Dear Lord!!!

It doesn't even need any photoshopping to battle Clockzilla. It's already a kaiju style monster.

Jesus. What monstrosities. Was it not enough to just have the Nescafe sign on top of that one building? Did they really have to add a giant coffee cup that says the same thing? Same with the Pepsi building.

It stands in sharp contrast to Sao Paulo, which banned advertising entirely and is better off for it.

I can generally live with most forms of advertising and signs, and I can even tolerate logos on office towers noting their main tenants, that kind of thing.

But big billboards on towers is just going too far for me. I remember arriving in Paris at CDG and being greeted by this awful sight looming over the road...

Don't think it's ugly but I'm definitely not a fan of it.Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club.

Don't be fooled by its tacky nature. The surrounding neighbourhood is super expensive. Though this 'hood is immediately adjacent to the noisy 401. And like so many TO neighbourhoods people pay millions to live in, it has its fair share of bland, average looking apartment buildings on the main roads.

All those types of buildings tend to be bad.

It's a terrible composition. Does no one have a sense of proportion, scale, rhythm, harmony, balance. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
