Am I the only one who thinks it's bizarre for an aquarium to include a seafood restaurant? "Look kiddies! Such beautiful sea creatures! Let's go eat some, now!"

Downtown Aquarium Houston always jumps to my mind when I think of a tacky aquarium exterior too! The same company's Downtown Aquarium Denver is much more sleek and attractive, but was originally built by a different group before being taken over by this one.
As for general aquarium café food, most of the fish served are species not commonly kept in an aquarium but there are exceptions. Downtown Aquarium Houston and Denver both have table-service restaurants with a focus on fish so they are especially good examples of the possible hypocrisy of the meal. By that token many zoos have farm areas that often contain cows, pigs and chickens; guess what is on the menu in a typical zoo café? In all my zoo visits I think I have never seen an entirely vegetarian, much less pescatarian, café menu. I am glad I have never seen cape buffalo, red river hog, or junglefowl on a menu in a zoo!
