New student housing planned at UTSA

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) will get a new $28 million student housing development near the school to serve the growing campus.

The new development is called Hill Country Place and it will feature 1, 2 and 4-bedroom units specially designed for college students. Each unit has its own private bath.

The complex will also have a clubhouse, gaming center, activity room, fitness center, tanning bed, basketball court, sand volleyball court, a swimming pool, grilling stations and carports. Hill Country Place also will be gated.

Hill Country place should be ready in time for a July 2008 opening, according to The Place/BV Student Housing LLC, a real estate investment fund specializing in the development of student housing.

The Place/BV Student Housing is a joint venture between Atlanta-based Place Properties LP and Blue Vista Capital Management LLC in Chicago. The company is investing in the UTSA project, which is the venture's third in Texas.
