Did this building suffer any damage during Hurricane Irma?
Not that I have seen. I don't think any downtown buildings suffered any real damage. The 4 seasons lost a couple of windows and Vice got a little cosmetic damage when its crane crumbled onto the building.

The codes are in place for Hurricane resistant structures. Even your standard home will come with features rated for high winds such as glass or windows for example. Before Hurricane Andrew, the code was not really up to par.
It's a great looking tower even with a flat roof-I imagine that higher costs factored into the main reason that the proposed pointy top wasn't installed.
