I've found this thread enjoyable. It's turned into more of an "air your frustrations", kind of thing. Which is good for you, let it all out...

To Prov Gov't

I'm tired of the traffic that is on Highways 59 south and 52
We have close to 40,000 people in this region...
Steinbach 13500
Hanover 12500 (Grunthal, Mitchell, Kleefeld, Blumenort)
Niverville 4000
LaBroquerie 6500
St Pierre 1100
St Malo 1200

These 2 roadways are our "main streets"...They need to be twinned!

Dear Runt,

Are they still voting BLUE in that area? If those 40,000 voters were orange, things might be different. Look what happened to Springfield, they got a THREE LANE BRIDGE because they voted BLUE.

Signed,

ColorBlind

To: Pauline Marois:

If Quebec decides to separate from Canada, remember this: Create your own: currency; national defence; taxation system; social programs; no more RCMP; etc. Moreover, there will be a cessation of transfer payments.

(As regrettable as that would be to lose our QC friends.)

To the city council of Martensville:

What are you doing? No, seriously? What are you doing? I've lived in Martensville for seventeen years and it's painfully clear to me that you do not have a plan for the growth of the city.

You're building eastwards without creating a viable means for those who live in the new subdivision to get there. This is going to increase congestion and the danger at the two exits to the city. It would have been simpler to build west across the highway.

Speaking of the highway, the creation of an interchange or overpass should be a top priority, yet the only thing we've heard about it is that it is in future plans. It should be in the plans now, especially with the new infrastructure funds in the new federal budget.

Lastly, new businesses are great, but they aren't the businesses we need. Out of all the major new stores in Martensville, the majority are fast food. We don't need those, we need a larger grocery store and things like doctor's offices. We also need to create another business district in the city because the current plan of placing all businesses on a single street is growing old. Warman has the right idea in this regard. They seem to have a plan to attract businesses and manage growth, and because of that the city feels far larger and more impressive. As much as I hate to say it, maybe take a page out of their playbook and stop trying to manage growth like Martensville is still a town of 2,500 people. It isn't.

Don't forget, no more members of parliament either.

alittle1.......

I'm not big into politics. I think no matter who is in Gov't will end up screwing us
over. That being said this region is Blue...and that has more to do with religion.
