What is on the current site of Victoria & Rose

I always found Rose street to be a very pleasant street name

the Globe Theatre has a press conference scheduled for Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. to unveil a major announcement related to its future in downtown Regina.

That seems kind of late in the day to have a major announcement

Yes that's not exactly a "media-friendly" time for a press conference. They prefer mid-morning or early afternoon. Will completely miss today's news cycle, so you'll have to rely on Twitter to get the breaking news tonight at 7 p.m.

Well as usual, thefourthtower did not reference where he got this information from. Do we know this is actually true, or are you all just taking his word for it?

I've got a bit from Prairie Dog which is an unrelated aside on a story about bus route changes but that is all I've found.

Good point. But if it is at 7pm then I wouldn't expect a new building, but rather them moving into an existing space and renovating.

- ownership of the building vs. renting
- ability to renovate as they see fit
- ability to generate additional revenue streams from other tenants, like Beer Bros.
- opportunity to get really creative by leasing out space on the ground level to other, complimentary arts organizations for example

As a season-ticket subscriber, the most important part of this move are, it keeps the Globe downtown, it preserves the building and it preserves the theatre-in-the-round format, which is the Globe's defining characteristic.
