man... that debate was painful to watch. it was like watching dumb & dumber. only instead of laughing, i wanted to cry knowing these are our best choices for the city's top post....

i think i'm even more clueless now of who i'm gonna vote for.

Why is the new Blue Bombers stadium not an election issue? The deal with David Asper, and his company Crestwin sounds very shady. Asper is already renaging on his word to cover cost overruns, and that is not good. I've read the stadium cost can go as high as $190 million, as opposed to the 115-120 million Asper is citing. The last thing I want to happen is to have us taxpayers foot the bill for the stadium, which looks inevitable..

Looks like the race in my ward is going to be close, drunken Jeff Browaty seems to have a real contender in lefty Brian Olynik a longtime River East clued out school trustee. Lets hope all us fellow alcohol aficionados get out to vote for Jeff.

Does he beat his wife?

We had a candidate who was an alcoholic and wife beater for mayor in 2006, he just narrowly beat out the pot head who wanted to turn Thunder Bay into Amsterday. Both are in jail now. The incumbent got 86% of the vote, and I was surprised it was so low.

I wonder what would happen if a member of city council was imprisoned for assaulting his wife or growing 350 pot plants? Would probably make the ward that voted for them look bad.

Does this look like a guy (The helmet on the right is Jeff's) that could actually find a woman?

A guy who has to have it his way at all costs and doesn't understand the meaning of 'NO' is EXACTLY who I'd want for my councilor.

Keep the NIMBY crowd in check, and maybe his wife too.

We had one of those once. He got the city involved in a ten million dollar wrongful dismissal lawsuit after publishing libellous remarks about various city employees in a home made publication he distributed throughout his ward. He went bankrupt shortly after.

You have to be careful with those "doesn't understand the meaning of NO" type councillors.

There are a lot of candidates here saying they'll publish everything from closed door meetings. Well, that is a great way to cost the city millions in frivolous lawsuits from multiple parties, and lose development and employment opportunities in the process!

Personally, I'd rather have a candidate who is able to think.

Sam Katz does seem to get things done but he also is a little sly about the studies and research, how it's his friends filling their pockets while he takes a percentage of that. Raise the PST? Excuse me? This is a Municipal thing not a Provincial thing.

Judy talks about raising residential taxes in the City of Winnipeg well at least thats a more honest way of saying "hey you want things fixed then you will pay for it". No hey lets raise he PST, why should people in Winnipeg who pay for taxes pay to fix roads elsewhere?

So the whole Province should pay to fix roads in Winnipeg? People who live in the north who pay taxes there taxes go towards to fix roads in Winnipeg? Its the Citys responsibility to get things fixed. Not look to the Province and say "hey raise the PST so Winnipeg can get roads or related infrastructure fixed".

Yeah and ill invest my money into Crocus.

Shame on Shannon from Credit Services for phoning little old ladies, and telling them that they have an important message and to please hold, only to be met with the sound of a fog horn proclaiming they've won a cruise!!!

Any truth to the rumour that Lazarenko is throwing his support behind Jenny Motkaluk?

I remember them being so "crunchy" that they cut up the inside of your mouth. And they tasted bad, like the NDP.

Would it be any surprise?

Lazy is generally more right leaning and so is Jenny.

Yesterday at approximately 5 PM, I was finishing up a day at Red River College. I went into the Campus Store to grab a snack before leaving. While standing in line, Sam Katz came in and actually shook my hand and asked how classes were going. Haha.

It was a bit surreal, as it was the last thing I expected to see after class. I guess he was doing some campaigning. Heactually seemed like a nice guy. By default, he already had my vote anyways. Nevertheless, it was a pretty cool experience.

You must be confused.

Shaking Sam's hand does not require a 10% union dues payment to the UFCW.
