Ah, but don't forget Vic's contact replied:
everyone is speculating. The foundation is 100% complete, the
utility phase is moving forward full steam. Because of the volatility in
the marketplace, we will be slowing down the pace a little until the market picks back up, but we're in a good place.
We're continuing to see sales literally everyday
Just because we have not been given a recent "official" announcement of sales figures does not mean that they are stuck on "north of 30%."
We do not hear about sales and they are not "selling" us the building because to open up sales to the general public would dilute the feeling of exclusivity needed to pander to the people who can afford the units. I only feel this may be the case because I have family members who have experienced similar strategies with cars, boats, etc....certain of these luxury items are not "marketed" per se, but rather, they would get invitations to events where they could purchase whatever it is that is new. When I spoke with them about the spire, their thought was simple. The company will take out some advertising enough to let everyone know what they are building, basically saying "look at the untouchable thing we have," but you will not see an active sales pitch (in the Spires case, the advertisement usually included a phone number, but not much else information). After that, they will go out and find people to buy into the spire (the road shows, generally exclusive to those who are potential buyers and unknown to those otherwise not involved in architecture or these forums). I hope this is what is going down, and I am curious where current sales numbers stand now.
Keep the faith
