Very cool one. You can see this tower climbing in the left corner, right in front of the U.S. Bank building.

Roberts Tower work site appears shut down

Quote:
The construction site at the Roberts Tower downtown has become very quiet in recent weeks.

Concrete work on the 25-story luxury condo building appears complete but many windows have yet to be installed on the top few floors and along one side. Alberici, the main contractor, appears to have removed some of its equipment from the site. An Alberici spokesman declined to discuss the matter.

The Roberts Tower’s sales office at the Roberts Lofts on the Plaza building never seems occupied and a call this morning to a sales rep went unanswered. The tower’s website is down.
Read all aboot it at the link.

Construction has resumed. Someone must have paid their bills.

New pics from January 23. Not the greatest due to the fog, but beggars can't be choosers.

I love how glass changes colors depending on the season. In the winter the glass looked silvery gray. Now it's a sky blue. Almost Done!

Looks like its going to be a beauty too. The first new residential hi-rise built in downtown St. Louis in decades!

This one is just about wrapped up. A few skyline photos from the Missouri Department of Transpo's Flikr stream.

To the bottom right of the Metropolitan Square (Green Roof).

Barely visable through the top right edge of the Arch (Should have VERY nice penthouse views.)

Behing the Laclede Gas building (dark grey building in the center) on the right side.

A very nice, modern addition to St. Louis at a time when many are not building. Getting ready to watch the next one go up. A new 14 story office building has been announced to commence this spring. AND if (when) the Air China Cargo hub is announced, there could be a veritable explosion of building in St. Louis from the Chinese who are already talking about financing new buildings....

STAY TUNED!

It hardly made a dent of difference to the skyline. The biggest impact it will have is the amount of people it adds to the downtown population. Residential towers in Ballpark village , if tall enough, are in a clear enough area to really impact the skyline, in an area of downtown where the residential population, and sidewalk activity, is much lower.

^Ha, I am sure we all would. If you have any tenants from outside the region looking for 1m sf plus of office space I am sure that there would be plenty of people willing to listen to you!

The tower does get lost in the skyline, but it is a sliver tower so that is kind of what it is designed to do. I think it fits in very well, and clearly makes its presence in the density of the Old Post Office area as a whole, and will add even more life to downtown on a 24 hour basis. Always a HUGE plus.

I like how this one turned out. The city still looks great, even if this one doesn't mark it's spot too much.

While in St. Louis seeing this building, I wasnt all too impressed by it. I wish it would have been built up to the sidewalk, it feels strange being that far off the street. But, at least STL got something new.
