Great thread. These pics really show an appreciation for the city's past and present, as well as provoking thoughts on its future.

I absolutely love the old streets with Federalist townhouses. I'm less enthralled with the newer condos in Rittenhouse Square. Some of the office blocks from the 60s are just deadening.

As wealth in this country flows westward to sunny and dopey places like Phoenix, Philadelphia will still have an incredible heritage to draw on. I suspect it will be this legacy that keeps Philadelphia in the top tier of cities in this century. There are only so many places that actually inspire awe. Philly is lucky in that way.

Oh HELL Yeah! Superb. Fantabulous.

I have to say this rivals SWEDE's thread last year in terms of tourist shots of the city.

Magnificent.

Nice thread, it looks like you captured Philly as I remember her on my trip a few months ago. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed the tour.

Hey? I've missed it, since when do I miss a Philly thread since I've been there? I hope it's still online here.

The-New-Tony-Detroit : It's taken from the rooftop of the Holiday Inn, near the Bank Park

Serge : Ouais, le Bank St. Hostel! Comment l'as-tu trouvé? J'ai pas trop aimé le fait que les dortoirs aient 25 lits et plus, mais bon...

Joey D : I would also love to see that Swede's thread!

Others : Thanks a lot! this is the firts time that one of my photo-threads actually breaks the second page!!

You mean SERGE. And while this thread is incredibly freaking awesome it does not rival SERGE's thread last year, its the second best of Philly tourists though.

Hola Capsule F, thank's a lot but... we're totally different photographiers.
This the best tourist thread of Philly... I have been lucky for the weather.

Enfin ça a p-e changé...

Whooooooops

Swede and Serge mix me up sometimes, sorry. I meant SERGE's thread, although I'm sure Swede would do a great thread too.

LOL

GREAT SHOTS

That may be 1 of the 1st pano's I ever seen of Philly that show river to river. It would be cool to see from University city to the Delaware.

very nice pics hope you had fun here. oh btw were you here for the Habs - Flyers game? I got my Desjardins poster.
