What's all the landscaping and walls in front? Any rendering of that or that a different project?

It's the San Pedro Creek redevelopment.

Every time they pour a floor (and then the pillars), they then remove the orange scaffold support columns near the crane on the floor immediately below for a few days, then they replace them. Apparently to make room for something, but what?

They'll scrub them with some Bon Ami. It cleans without scratching.

Looks like they're doing a double floor (conference room?) on the north side of the 14th floor. Forms for columns are going up on the 15th floor but there is no floor poured.

Camera 2:

The columns seem to be getting narrower too, which makes sense as the floors get higher and the weight of the building above gets lighter.

Video Link

So I was looking through YouTube to see if anyone made any type of video update of the frost tower and low and behold, I found this channel called white cloud drones, LLC. Very beautiful, birds eye view footage of the construction site from February 2017 to January 2018 all captured by drone! He (or she) plans to give us drone updates as construction continues so feel free to keep an eye out on their channel!

It's the first substantial high-rise to be built in downtown San Antonio in over 30 years.

No it’s not. The Grand Hyatt not old at all. That said, to the other guy it’s about the design. I like how the internet is full of unessary comments that’s lead to idiocy.

*unnecessary; i went ahead a fixed that spelling error you had there, kid

Oh, my!

It is the first of its kind in the business district of downtown to be built in over 30 years. It is also the first office tower to be built since 1989. It is a substantial project, which has already been receiving credit by other developers to consider building and developing similar projects in the area. If this momentum continues, San Antonio, Texas could have its first downtown highrise building boom in over 30 years; a much-needed change to its bland canvas of overused representation of historical sites, with no prospect in its architectural makeup or its societal context toward future development of a true mixture of metropolitan of art and design to be appreciated within one city downtown.

big things are happening in San Antonio. I hope...
And I also hope we can be so "what the fuzz" or "blasé" regarding these types of buildings as does many in Austin now feel toward their downtown. But they will never have our walkable, unique downtown - we just need a few modern highrises to mix in with the old, and we will truly be one unique South Texas city!
