I wish people would stop employing him.

There was a time when his point of view was refreshing. Now it's just tired.

Me too! And it is actually Eric Leighton doing most of the designs at this point. Cecil is pretty old and pretty checked out of most projects. I wonder what will happen with that firm when he actually passes away.

Northern Liberties - 2nd and Girard (next to the Acme)

This Project is well underway, there's a massive hole in the ground, I counted 3 drills on site. (it's the triangle lot that has been a field forever). Sorry, just did a drive by, couldn't snap a pic.

Very cool. Reminds me a lot of the Hazelwood Green proposal in Pittsburgh. Love me some regional rail TOD.

Was on Market East today. Here are some photos of FDP....with about three and a half weeks to go they better start working 24/7. From what I could see there are very few store fronts looking ready to open.

I am sure what the point was of creating windows on the 2nd floor only to cover some of them up with what I am guessing will be one of the video screens:

I was not expecting something this handsome here! Does it make up for demolishing the two historic buildings that used to be here? Maybe not quite ... but it goes a long way towards doing so.

^Just a brief comment on the Fashion District, I wonder if the Black Israelites will also be welcoming visitors on 9.19 -- because they were out in force on this past Saturday, in two locations on Market Street in front of the Fashion District and across the street.

This is replacing the low rise projects being torn down as we speak. Big improvement.

There's a lot to see on Market, including dazed addicts all around the 1100 and 1200 blocks right near heavily traveled tourist intersections- and this is NOT limited to Saturdays- more like everyday. I'm sure conventioneers feel quite "welcomed" by hunched over Herion addicts or the others who are sitting or laying on the ground with signage.

^Yeah, I mean homeless and addicts we've all seen, they are in every city. But the BI's screaming with megaphones that all whites are fags/pedos and need to die, that's a little more than a nodding off junkie! (and I'm well aware of their existence, I've seen them near City Hall for a decade, I'm just saying for maybe someone who hasn't been in town for awhile, or a tourist, or a Fashion District official, that's got to be a nightmare).

When I was there on Sunday I was surprised that there was none of that going on. It was actually pleasant to walk down Market Street.

Sources tell me that Coradino will be decking out the Black Israelites in the latest fashions from H&M, some hot guy-liner from Ulta and sweet kicks from Nike.

My feeling exactly. I went from being really PO'd to just mildly disappointed with the loss of the original structure but excited about this new addition.

I'll be really disappointed if the city and CCD don't focus their efforts to clean up Market East once this half-billion dollar city owned project opens in a few weeks. It's literally the heart of tourist town. If Kirk Goldsberry did a shot chart for which streets see the most tourists per day, this stretch of Market Street would be bright red. It's 1 street, like 8 blocks, get it right and clean it up for f**k's sake.
