Not sure if the renderings have changed or if the plans have changed completely but the 100 pine ave tower in Long Beach seems to have gotten a smudge taller and seems like the developer has added a Wilshire Grand type spire to the side/top of it. Either way it looks mildly more interesting than the previous design.

Melrose Triangle is asking to change things up a bunch-

https://www.wehoville.com/2020/01/06...angle-project/

In a modified project description submitted to the city’s Planning and Development Services Department, the developer proposes to increase the amount of office space by 152% to a total of 345,328 square feet. The 45,112 square feet of retail space would be reduced by 82% to 8,239 square feet. And the space devoted to housing would be reduced by 87% to a total of 9,887 square feet, with all of that space used for low-income and moderate-income housing. The inclusion of affordable housing allows the developer to increase the project by 10 feet in height from what is allowed in the zoning for that area.

That makes sense. It's moving pretty slow

^ Looks like 29 floors or so have been constructed. That means it's about 2/3 its total height now. Going to be very prominent towers.

Was noticing the other day how beautiful the 2900 Wilshire/Hoover complex is going to be when approached on Wilshire from the East traveling West. Its graceful shape in order not to shade Lafayette Park is going to make it a stunning site line. Hopefully, this major development on that corner will also spur some major urban renewal south on Hoover.

That little park being redone will help, and this is certainly another area that can use some increased development, but have to be careful to maintain - or preferably increase - the stock of affordable housing in this area.
