I'm pretty sure it wont block that view. It will mostly block the Granada as it will be directly in front of it.

Clever. Kinda flippant, but clever.

P.S. - It's the possessive "lead's."

Looks like this could be problematic for the JMJ if it's approved.

My thoughts exactly. But we haven't even seen a design so it's still really up in the air. Who knows what is going on with this one.

I emailed the developer about two weeks and they never got back to me.

Okay recently reread this...

Quote:
Villita tower

What is it: A tower on the River Walk with 221 apartments and 4,000 square feet of class A office space.

Original plans: The developer, Dallas-based JMJ Development, originally expected to break ground in late 2016.

Current status: Demolition of an existing building on the property will begin on October 15, said Tim Barton, JMJ’s chief executive. He expects construction to begin in about nine months and to take nearly two years.

The firm recently bought a nearby building where it plans to construct a parking garage, he said. That will make it easier to design the tower, he said; previously, the firm planned to build an automated parking garage underneath the apartments.

The change of plans delayed the project, though, because JMJ has to redo design work, Barton said. Removing the parking garage from the main tower will also reduce its height by four stories from its original 32-story height, he said.
if all goes according to what they said... they should begin construction june/july... so we'll see how that goes.

It's taking a little long than previously thought. It doesn't even gone before review, so...might be another year out. Sadly.

I'm starting to think the project is dead. Plan reviews have yet to be submitted, much less construction to start in 2018. If they were to go through review right now, it wouldn't start for months, maybe next summer.

They said funding was ready to go... ever since they bought the property nearby to build a garage, and changed the design they have been pretty quiet. I guess we'll see.

Kinda torn on this one. While I like the height, as shown in the renderings we've seen, it does block the Tower Life building and, again, based on renderings we've seen, not exactly aesthetically pleasing.

IIRC, construction is due to start in June or July. Not sure if that is still in the offing.

Perhaps there are design changes going on? If the Thompson project is sixty percent pre-sold, as is being claimed, surely demand is not an impediment to this project.

Weren't these supposed to be luxury apartments for lease, though???

It's changed so much. I believe it's a mix of hotel and condo at this point, but without any updates, hard to tell.

Was this the one that that had a car elevator as well?

I think I read somewhere that they were going to do a regular parking garage instead, but it’s been so quiet that it’s hard to confirm what is happening.

I think they changed the design from an integrated garage to a separate structure, which lowered the overall height. I believe there has been some work on the garage, but not to the overall structure yet. If nothing more happens in the next two to three months, the we can question.

Has anyone heard anything on this recently? Is it time to declare this project dead?
