What is the status of the Merck IT hub project that was announced back on 2017? I haven't heard anything about it in a while. Isn't it supposed to locate somewhere in the medical center campus?

They are located in the Dell Medical School’s Health Discovery Building. It was only speculation that Merck had anything to do with a Brackenridge site project.
The UT Arena plan calls for re-aligning Red River through this tract to connect directly connect it to the new section through the med school. City Council approved negotiations with UT to move it so I'm guessing we should see some demo of the old hospital in the next couple years regardless of the timeline of the new development.
Here are retention plans for Block 164. That's one of the two blocks UT leased from Central Health for the medical campus after the Brackenridge project (in it's original form) fell through. This is for 5 underground levels for a new building. At least one of the two buildings on the block will need to be demo'ed for this. But I can't find any other info about what is being built here.

This building wouldn't preclude that. I assume a realigned Red River would be where the drive currently is just East of Block 164 & Block 168.
EDIT: Nevermind. Upon further inspection is does look like it will be in the way of the Red River realignment.
If you’re saying that site plan is for an underground parking garage, it appears the garage is partially being built under the red river realignment which are the dotted lines over the garage’s eastern side. The actual building appears to be in the center of the garage and starts just west of the red river realignment and is centered around the elevators. Does that seem correct?
My comment was not as much related to the side where Red River could go, but more about the side where it is currently. That angle the building is being designed with cuts off a lot of potential square footage. If the road is being moved, it'd be kind of a waste.
I'm guessing you can't share a link? That looks to be around 275' with the mechanical screen. Nice height for the area and taller than I was expecting from UT. I guess we can call this Brackenridge Tower #1.
Pretty cool looking building. Still wish RR could be straightened out, though.
The retention layout that was posted isn't being submitted to city for permitting. I'm guessing they are reviewing some preliminary technical aspects while they wait to find out where RR is going to go.
So is this curved building something that is going to be built, or is it just an example of what could be built on the site? Has the building actually been announced as a project slated to be built in the near future?? Is UT the developer? I am totally confused about the former hospital site except that I understand UT or the Medical Center entity has a long term lease on the property.
It's hard for me to tell but it does seem like it's compatible with a Red River realignment, assuming the parking is all underground. I'm not sure I've ever seen parking be under a road like that before, though.
I REALLY would love to see the old Red River get torn up and for that land to be added to Waterloo Park.
