Not the prettiest building out there, yet its probably my favorite going up around Miami right now and I wish we had 20 more like it due to its urban qualities (no parking, wedged into a small lot in the old CBD, affordable prices) and what part of downtown its going up in.

I agree in part. Some winners, but tons of generic looking towers. This is true of all U.S. cities. Although... Sunny Isles might meet your liking. Some of the towers going up there or in the pipeline are quite amazing. Miami has some nice ones in store. 1000 Museum arguably being the best one. Probably up there in terms of the nicest in the U.S.. Where Miami does shine is in some of its low and mid rises. Quite a few gems out there within Miami-Dade County.

Its a step in the right direction. Miami and its satellites have the 2nd most highrises and skyscrapers going up at the moment. NY being in the lead, but for a U.S. metro, its up there.

Centro tops off! Miami's 67th. highrise over 400 feet | 122 meters

Downtown Miami’s car-less condo tower is just about topped off, and Newgard Development is trying to sell off the remaining units.

In May, sales representatives for the project claimed that 90% of units had already been sold. Local brokers say that the lack of parking at the building has made it a more difficult sell, however.

Under the terms of the leaseback program, the developer will guarantee a return of 5% of the purchase price for the first year, net of fees. Other local projects, including Tibor Hollos’ Opera Tower, have run similar programs.

Developers have recently submitted plans for more downtown towers with little or no parking, including a rental tower at Miami Worldcenter’s Block E, which Newgard is also involved with.

^ It's cute how the Metromover train colors matches the tower!

Looks quite amazing. A nice addition. Its a playful, lego like facade, and it works.

Finishing Touches Applied to 37-Storey Centro

Quote:
151 SE 1st Street in the heart of Downtown Miami is now home to Centro, a 37-storey residential tower by Newgard Development Group. Nestled in the Jewelry District, the tower is blocks away from the riverfront, Biscayne Bay, Museum Park, and the American Airlines Arena.

Usable space within each of the project's 352 units is maximized by implementing open concept floor plans, ten-foot exposed ceilings, and expansive windows. Italian cabinetry, finished concrete flooring, stainless steel appliances, and custom kitchen and bathroom fixtures provide an industrial chic aesthetic to the living spaces.

Nearly 200 Units Have Closed At Centro In The Last Month

By TNM Staff on September 22, 2016

Closings are coming in fast and furious at Centro, the downtown Miami condo without a parking garage.

Since closing started on August 17, there have been 190 deeds recorded, according to Miami-Dade county records. In total, the project includes 352 units.

Although the building doesn’t include parking, buyers are being given a year of free parking in a garage across the street.
