i'm with takascar, that place is pretty hideous. The outside isn't so bad, but once you step into the massive atrium all that red is nauseating.

//great soup though

The Trib is reporting that a construction worker at 200 W. Wacker was killed when he fell down an elevator shaft. Is that the address of WT?

200 West Wacker doesn't exist. That would be on the northern side of the roadway which faces the river. Waterview is 111 West Wacker. Post a link to the article where you read this.

I just called over there. It's not the Waterview site where the incident happened. They're trying to figure out where this happened as well.

The building isn't actually under-construction:

I think that they are finished. It looks like they have leveled off on the floors instead of the angle that was being used for the parking ramps.

It looks like they are topping out 11P and making the first setback at 12H on the right side.

^I guess that is the explanation of the seemingly slowed construction. Perhaps once they get over 12 then we should see things return to 'swiftness'...

the tower portion should rise even faster than the podium. once they finish the podium and transfer floor, this thing should shoot straight up rather quickly!

Sad news on this project:

A carpenter fell to his death in the elevator shaft today. I dont have any more details at this time.

This is not to be confused with last weeks news report at 200 Wacker

Just as a warning, a rent-a-cop approached me yesterday while taking photos from the Transportation Center parking garage and said the parking garage was private property and that they would need to get a letter saying why I needed to take picture there before it was okayed, or that I needed to park there to have any business there. Not that this will stop me mind you but just be careful.

From the 35th floor of the LaSalle-Wacker Building. You can clearly see in the bottom-left corner where the 3-story woud will be. There will be several of these voids on the hotel floors in this area.

There has been an upswing in break ins at all the downtown garages. Even balding middle aged white guys like myself get shagged out every once and awhile. Yes sir, thank you sir, ( see you next week ).
