^Thanks for your nice comments! The building on the right is Buckhead Grand, it's a condo building.

Just noticed steel framing is up for the street level portion of the project.

Is it me, or does this building remind you of a mixture between Library Tower in Los Angeles and Burj Dubai in Dubai? (More so Library Tower in L.A.) Either way, this building is astonishing.

I usually like more modern designs, but this is a beautiful classic looking building.

I'm pretty disappointed with the crown. I thought it would be slightly larger and much more detailed.

Great pic, Joe! I love how slender this building is. Agreed...is that crown finished? It doesn't suit the rest of the building....

It's going to the left. Where the building with the greenish roof is.

This building is so nice. Why did they cheapen the crown?

Thanks, Behind_Phips. I believe that's the Christian Science Reading Room, right? It's not a bad looking building right along the streetfront, but I'm sure it will have to be demolished for such a large project to be built on that lot. Hope it happens soon...

The last Atlanta Business Journal article said they are targeting early Q1 to start construction. I wondering if they are still planning to include the condos?

Agreed... it's not even half the height of the crown in the initial rendering, which looked like it was going to be gilt gold and have a lot of detail. Why spend all that money to build and then skimp on the most important part?

that can't possibly be the finished crown in the above photo. if so, there's absolutely no questioning which building is superior - sovereign by a mile.

Some photo updates, taken Thursday (3/6):

The crown.....actually more detailed than it looks:

Stratford Road frontage:

Peachtree Road frontage....WTF:

And just for fun...as reflected in the Atlanta Financial Center:
