Restoration on the Fox Theatre's onion dome complete

The extensive restoration involved replacing the roof and the dome’s inner floor, protecting the building from water damage. Equally important was the project’s visual aspect. New lighting was installed at the Dome’s base to boost its evening allure and provide customizable color options for various events, holidays and significant dates.

A zoning verification was filed for 333 Auburn. Not sure what this is, but it's listed as having an affordable housing component. Currently the site is an empty lot.

360 Peachtree Street

Per Urbanize Atlanta, Atlanta First United Methodist Church is moving forward with the affordable housing development. Phase one will include two new schools: Atlanta First Day School and a tuition-free school for homeless children.

^Fantastic news. Hopefully they are coordinating with The Stitch, since this is right next to it.

EDIT - they're moving right along with this! Demolition permit filed today.
"VERTICAL DEMOLITION OF EXISTING 3 STORY CHURCH BUILDING (31,269 SF). EXISTING TWO STORY SANCTUARY AND ORIGINAL SANCTUARY WILL REMAIN."

And their land development permit.
"cope will consist of 170 residential units, 64,747 sf of school, 2,266 SF of Retail space, and a 72 car parking deck."

Lot consolidation permits filed for 680 Spring. Could be interesting. This is the parking lot space south of the one-story Concentra urgent care building and north of the Varsity.

EDIT: consolidation also filed for 61 North, which is The Varsity building. Hmm, is someone planning on developing the Varsity and surrounding parking lots?

Wait... So what does that mean? Midtown Square actually happening? Or is it just for the corner?

From what it looks like, the curved building must be phase one? The other building in the background must be another phase and on the adjacent lot. The lot with the church is too narrow for both towers.

It's a proposal from the mid 2000's for the entire lot. I just searched online and can't find the rendering to save my life. I think it was a Dewberry Capital project. It was a nice-looking rendering.

Anyone have the old rendering?

Correct.

The approved plans are for a tower behind the church and the parking deck on the lot south of Porter Place. The parking deck has been entitled for a second tower on top, but that's not part of the first phase of financing.

The Campanile building has been renamed by Dewberry to the Midtowne per leasing documentation: https://www.loopnet.com/viewer/pdf?f...2520Packet.pdf

Is that Midtown-uh, Midtownee, or some other bastardization?

Planning permit filed for 875 Earnest on the westside.
"This project scope of work consists of 150 apartment units along with 4,000 SF of street fronting amenity / lobby space with an overall heated gross building area of approximately 84,800 SF. The building is to be constructed as a five-story wood frame structure over a 3-story concrete parking podium with 125 total spaces."

Site is currently a couple of one story buildings and a vacant lot. It was previously proposed to be "The Felix West Midtown" with 15 townhomes, so this is a significant upgrade in density.
